Only held every few years, ITU TELECOM WORLD is an unrivaled event for the global telecommunication and information communication technology (ICT) sector. At this 11th ITU World event, WORLD 2009 attracts all stakeholders from across the sector and around the world for a truly global, world-class event and networking platform.

   5-9 October 2009, WORLD 2009 is held in at the GENEVA PALEXPO venue, Geneva, Switzerland. The thematic underpinning of the entire event is Open Networks - Connected Minds setting the ambitions of WORLD 2009. The theme highlights the importance of WORLD 2009 in developments of the telecommunications and ICT industries.

   UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon declares the ITU TELECOM WORLD 2009 event officially open. Ban Ki-Moon Said: "All of you at this Telecom World 2009 are poised to make a tremendous difference. Individually, you can have an impact in your areas of influence. Collectively, you can change our world."

   On this event, the world famous company China Mobile, China Unicom, Cisco, Fujitsu, NTT& NTT DoCoMo, Samsung, Saudi Telecom Company, TDIA, FiberHome, Huawei and ZTE has the boots, and also many national Pavilions such as RUSSIA, SPAIN, JAPAN, KOREA, MALAYSIA, EGYPT became the highlights of the event.

   Chinese exhibitors and Forum speakers play a key role at this ITU TELECOM WORLD event taking place in Geneva from 5-9 October 2009. With a range of high-level participants from China telecommunications industry - including China Mobile, China Unicom, DaTang Telecom Technology and Industry Group, Ernst & Young, FiberHome Technologies, Huawei Technologies, TDIA and ZTE Corporation the event provide a platform on which key issues of importance to China ICT sector can be discussed. ITU TELECOM WORLD Forum sessions give speakers the opportunity to share their views on key issues around the role and positioning of the ICT sector for development and global recovery.

   One of the most impressive exhibition stands at this week's ITU World Telecom has been built by perhaps the vendor first time Grand debut in Europe - FiberHome Technologies of Wuhan.

   FiberHome has a history going back 35 years to when it was the Wuhan Research Institute of Post and Telecommunication. But building on strong R&D in optical communications, FiberHome has announced itself in a major way here in Geneva - with both components and systems capability presence.

   "Here at ITU we are not just saying something to the market, we are showing strong capability and demonstrating products," says FiberHome's Group Vice-Chairman Lv WeiPing.
