On March, 25th 2010, during the Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Awards Conference 2009, the joint team from the FiberHome Telecommunication, WRI, State Key Laboratory of Optical Communication Technologies and Networks shared the "Indoor Optical Fiber Cable Technology Development and Industrialization" project was awarded first prize for scientific and technological progress in Hubei Province. The award illustrates that FiberHome is in the leading position of FTTH technology of optical fiber and cable industry.

With years of research, FiberHome and partners surmounted technical difficulties in the design, manufacturing and process of FTTH Series fiber and cable, and mastered the core technology of indoor optical fiber and cable; Successfully developed with independent intellectual property rights of bend-insensitive fiber, micro structure fiber and fiber preparation methods and equipment; Developed up to 19 different products e.g. self-support cable and flexible metal tube optical fiber and cable, solving the problem of access indoor cable in complex environment. In the practical application, these products withstand a variety of construction method and a variety of construction environment test, and achieved good economic and social benefits currently.

From 2002, FiberHome has researched and developed indoor optical fiber and cable for communications, and with the supporting of state, the "973" project, FiberHome has successfully designed and developed China's first Photonic Crystal Fiber and received high appraisal of evaluating expert team. In 2009, the "UV optical fiber cable for access network technology research and development" project received special fund support from the Ministry of Science, which is the first industry's national project; at the meantime, “FTTH and 3G Cable Industry” get major projects in Wuhan Science and Technology Bureau.
